Carol Fishman Cohen, builder of employer career re-entry programs and leader of the iRelaunch #returntowork community, now over 100,000 strong, is a pioneer in the career re-entry space. Her viral TED talk "How to get back to work after a career break," has over 3.7 million views and is translated into 30 languages.
Carol is the host of the popular 3,2,1 iRelaunch! podcast and is a regular contributor to Harvard Business Review on career reentry topics. She is well known for her seminal article "The 40-Year-Old Intern, which was selected as an "HBR article that changed the way I think" as part of HBR's 90th anniversary recognition of HBR articles that made the biggest difference in readers’ and contributors’ lives. Her HBR Magazine article "Return to Work Programs Come of Age" talks about the evolution of and innovation in career reentry programs over nearly two decades, and is accompanied by an HBR Ideacast interview.
Carol speaks around the world on career re-entry topics and has addressed over 1,000 audiences.
Cohen and the iRelaunch team produce the iRelaunch Return to Work Conferences and work with over 250 clients on career reentry programs and programming. iRelaunch co-leads the STEM Re-entry Task Force with the Society of Women Engineers, which has 39 corporate members. Nearly 1,000 “relaunchers” have participated in 30 Task Force member return to work programs to date, and 85% have been hired.
Cohen's return to work at Bain Capital after an 11 year career break before co-founding iRelaunch is documented in an HBS case study and iRelaunch's work is documented in a Stanford GSB case study.
