Her2O Founder Brianna Huber Presents Gender Equity Research and Talks Menstrual Health Projects

A Talk by Brianna Huber (Executive Director Her2O, Director of Water Filtration, City of East Moline (Rock Island, IL USA))

About this Talk

By day, Brianna Huber is the "mild-mannered" Director of Water Filtration at the City of East Moline - but her passion for Gender Equity in Water led her to develop Her2o, a non-profit organization that focuses on advocating for gender equity and women's leadership in the water and sanitation sector, both in the US and around the world.

Topics discussed include:

  • How Brianna's public health background brought her to water - and the shock of entering a male-dominated industry
  • Founding Her2o and the organization's international work on menstrual health projects in countries where girls often miss school during their periods
  • Brianna presents her RESEARCH findings from an extensive study she conducted as part of her MBA, surveying both men and women on their experiences of discrimination and harassment and leadership opportunities at work

Brianna and DrCat discuss the severe lack of funding currently available for nonprofit organizations and for research focused on Gender Equity issues in the Water Workforce and programs to support Women Water Professionals post-university - and the need for better research to lead to better experiences for Women Of Water!

Check out all the work of Her2O at their website - Her2O.org - and don't miss their excellent research reports on Women - and Men - in the Water Industry! https://www.her2o.org/research-reports
